Pastel Seminar - By Marcus Moller

I will be hosting a one day seminar January 21st at the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault, MN. This one day event starts at 9:00 am and runs until 5:00 pm. This is a great beginning course for new pastelists and very informative session for intermediate pastel painters. I will be discussing various brands of pastels, materials and tools and different painting surfaces. I will show you how to create textures and effects as well as a quick demonstration. We will also cover underpainting techniques. Students will also have time to work on their own painting, paper is supplied. If students do not have their own pastels these can be furnished for an additional $20.00 for a 48 piece set of Blick student grade pastels. For details and to sign up please go to this link: http://www.paradisecenterforthearts.org/education/classes/

I also use my studio for private tutoring of which you may inquire through my contact information on this site.

Personal Art Lessons Available

I have my studio open for private pastel lessons. There is enough studio space for 2 to 3 students depending upon ability. The course covers a range of things including materials, techniques, applications, problem solving, creating the image of distance, perspective, reflections. The first two courses run about 5 hours in length and three to four hours each additional lesson. Five lessons covers all of the basics to help you well on your way.
Some of the lessons include demonstrations as well as a ten page brochure with much valuable reference information. I am also available for group lessons.
